Lopez Museum and Library and Institute for Maritime and Ocean Affairs welcomes Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio as he presents a historical perspective and legal basis on the Philippine claim of Scarborough Shoal, one of the features of the contested West Philippine Sea, on February 21, 2015,tomorrow, from 2 – 4PM. Registration starts at 1:30 PM.
Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio is the chair of the Supreme Court’s Second Division and Chair of the Senate Electoral Tribunal. He penned the Supreme Court decision pertaining to the constitutionality of the Philippine Archipelagic Baselines Law of 2009. Baselines are the basis of maritime boundaries and jurisdiction of neighbouring coastal States.
The lecture is free to the public. Gourmet Farms Inc. will also serve freshly brewed coffee during the lecture.
Parking is available however, they are limited. There are adjacent parking areas near the museum.
The lecture venue can be quite chilly, so it's advisable to bring sweaters/jackets with you.
